This site explains how to use free AI chat tools, such as the free versions of ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, to get everyday spreadsheet work done in Excel and Google Sheets. It is written for people who work with spreadsheets but are not developers: office staff, freelancers, small business owners, and students. Topics include writing and checking formulas, cleaning up data, and summarizing tables, using only features that are available at no cost and the basic functions built into Excel and Google Sheets.

Every guide is based on the official documentation or help pages of the tools it covers, and each one lists its sources at the end so you can check them yourself. If we cannot confirm something in an official source, we leave it out. AI answers can be wrong, so the guides also show how to check a formula before you rely on it.

AI tools and spreadsheet apps change often. Menus move, limits change, and features are added or removed. When that happens, we update the affected guides and show the date of the last update.
